I thought I’d share my cook book shelf with you so you can see what I’m working from in some cases.
Joy of Cooking gets used quite a bit, as does the Williams Sonoma Tools and Techniques. You’ll notice I have four Nigella Lawson cookbooks. She is awesome and is in many ways my chef mentor (if only in my head). I love her books because they’re so fun and her show is always great to watch for not just recipes and tips. Another book I’d recommend is Ratio by Michael Ruhlman because it really helps you understand the basics of recipe building and how their structures work.
